Missouri Military Academy

Missouri Military Academy is an all-boys boarding school in Mexico, Missouri, about two hours west of St. Louis by car. The school enrolls between 101 and 200 cadets across middle school, high school, and a post-graduate year. The program blends college-prep academics with leadership training inside a structured military setting.

Faculty jobs here look different from a typical day school. Teachers share the campus with TAC officers, coaches, and residential staff. A daily schedule, uniform code, and chain of command shape how each class runs. Cadets come from across the U.S. and many other countries, so most rooms hold a real mix of backgrounds. Language offerings include Mandarin, Spanish, and English as an Alternative Language, which means ESL teachers play a central role.

Missouri Military Academy has no religious affiliation, so faculty frame character work in secular terms tied to the cadet honor code. Boarding roles often pair classroom teaching with coaching or dorm duty. In return, teachers can expect competitive pay, on-campus housing, term-time meals, and a short walk to work. The trade is real: long days and weekend duty in exchange for free housing and a built-in community.

The 2023 financials show about $12.9 million in revenue and $61 million in net assets, with fundraising up roughly 86 percent year over year.

The Academy hires faculty in English, math, science, history, world languages, and ESL, plus athletic coaches, dorm staff, and admissions roles. Most teaching searches open in late winter.
