Boarding DayCoEd500–700 students

Leman Manhattan Preparatory School is the only independent school in Lower Manhattan serving students from 12 months through Grade 12, with roughly 600 students. It is also New York City's only boarding school, operating a hybrid model where boarding and day students share every classroom, meal, and activity. This structure means faculty work across two populations with different home situations—a reality that shapes both curriculum design and daily schedule.

The academic program centers on the International Baccalaureate curriculum, taught from elementary through Grade 12. Mandarin Chinese, French, and Spanish are core languages, not add-ons, and the student body represents over 130 countries. A chemistry teacher works with students whose first language may not be English. A history class pulls perspectives from multiple continents into the same discussion. Teaching here means designing instruction for genuine global cohorts, not an abstraction.

Faculty at Leman Manhattan teach, advise, and often supervise boarding programs. Evening and weekend duties are part of the role, as are classroom collaborations across divisions on integrated units. The school consistently ranks among New York's top independent schools by Niche (#29 K–12, #5 for arts, #3 for diversity), and it achieved acceptances to all eight Ivy League institutions within its first decade of graduates.

Leman Manhattan hires faculty for teaching roles across all divisions, boarding supervisors, language specialists, and administrative staff. Benefits information and current openings are available on the school website at lemanmanhattan.org.
